The Bard of Ayrshire
Robert Burns (A Scottish Romantic)
Robert (Robbie) Burns (1759 - 1796)
He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots Language.
Zula Kenyon (1873-1947) "Goddess Of Summer"
And "So fair art thou, my bonnie lass, So deep in luve am I" Bonnie lass meaning, pretty young woman. Obviously the roses she is holding would symbolize his love. The beautiful young woman would symbolize the bonnie lass, and the sunny, green background would symbolize the transition from Spring to Summer mentioned in the quote above.
Horatio Mcculloch (1805-1867) "Loch Lomond" 1861
Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) "Hornby Castle, from Tatham Church"
A Red, Red Rose
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

T- Just by looking at the title, I'm inferring that the poem will be about a rose that is red in color, and his liking for the rose.
P- The author is using the rose to symbolize his love.
C- Positive Words:
- Love
- Newly Sprung
- Bonnie Lass
Negative Words:
- "Seas gang dry"
- "Rocks melt wi' the sun"
Both Positive and Negative Words:
- "Tho 'twere ten thousand mile"
A- The speakers attitude in this poem, is Loving. He speaks about loving this young woman forever, and how perfect their future together will be.
S- In the beginning of the poem the author talks about love. But the poem soon shifts, when the author mentions things like "Till all the seas go dry, my Dear, And the rocks melt with the sun! O I will love you still, my Dear, While the sands of life shall run." These lines can give someone mixed feelings, because while he is talking about loving someone forever, he is adding an element of death, and loss.
T- After reading and analyzing the poem, I would say the title is much more about the eternalness of love.
T- the theme is an expression of love
