Eunice Junior High School sent two Math Competition teams to the OJHS competition on Saturday, February 9th. The 7th-grade team led by Mrs. Tiffany Pedigo placed 1st in the team competition and the 8th-grade team led by Mrs. Jackie Oberste placed 3rd.
7th grader- Josh Simien placed 5th in the individual test
8th grader- Madlyn Edwards placed 6th in the individual test

The primary goal of the science club is to increase interest in STEM as well as to foster an excitement for science. In addition, club members participated in the school science fair and parish science fair. One of the club members, Dreylan Babino advanced to the regional science fair. Club members also participate in science-related projects and will participate in a field trip to SciPort in Shreveport.

Lawtell Trojans Showed Up and Showed Out at Opelousas Junior High School’s 1st Annual Math Tournament! 6th grade placed 3rd in Quiz Bowl competition. 7th grade placed 4th in the Team Competition. 8th grade placed 4th in Individual and Team Competitions and 1st and 4th place in Quiz Bowl. Additionally, LAWTELL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WON 1ST PLACE OVERALL out of all the schools who competed!
Lawtell Elementary School Learning Center students in Mrs. F. Dupre’s class took advantage of learning outdoors. Students enjoyed the beautiful weather while reading aloud individually and chorally, focusing on fluency and decoding.
BLACK HISTORY-GREAT MIGRATIONS was the theme for this year’s Black History Program. The program consisted of a Walk of Fame for black Musicians, Literature & Art. There were also several musical selections by the LES Band which included a solo trumpet selection of the Black National Anthem by R. Miller and singing and dancing by our 3rd and 5th graders. The guest speaker, Pastor Bonnie Riley, empowered the students, staff, and parents by focusing on a need to DREAM and be the best you can be!

PARK VISTA ELEMENTARY
Ms. Nelson's first graders completed the "Clean Teeth Egg Experiment". They recorded their predictions of what they thought would happen to the eggs. The next day, they went back and drew/wrote what did happen. They learned the importance of brushing their teeth at least twice a day!
Ms. Senegal, Assistant Principal, and Mr. Veazie, Administrative Assistant, took time out of their busy day to spend some time reinforcing PBIS at Park Vista Elementary on Friday. Mr. Veazie and Mrs. Senegal had some check-in/check-out meetings with students to make sure they are following PBIS. Mr. Veazie also visited classrooms in grades 4 -6 to discuss PBIS Playground Rules and Expectations during the week. Hats off to our administrators at PVE!
