Mrs. Hasse's Spotlight
A few reminders and updates for you this month from the office:
- Students need to continue to dress for the weather. Students will go outside if the weather feels like 15 degrees! That includes winter gear so that they can get their full time at recess. We work hard (academically) and like to play hard (safely at recess)!
- Currently wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless tanks etc at this time of year is NOT permitted. Shorts are allowed to wear during PE and students must put their pants over/on top (sweat suit style).
- During pick up, please use the cafeteria to pick up your child. I have noticed many families picking up/waiting in the lobby at dismissal time. I respectfully ask again to please wait in the cafeteria. The lobby should be for passing traffic. Noon duty/HP Support Staff have been trained to look for parents leaving with a child. Too much congestion clogs up the lobby and stifles this process and flow of traffic. I understand it can be bothersome when your tendency is to get in/get out but if we have all families doing what is requested of them each and every time, it will really help ensure the safety of our students and flow of the process. Thank you, in advance, for following this procedure!
Thank you for your continued support.

Students at HP lead the way with top happenings and thoughts each month! This trimester, Christopher and Russell are working to bring you what's happening with HP!
Recently, Mrs Husovsky and Mrs. Sheel’s classrooms got a very pleasant surprise when they walked into their classroom to find the incubator filled with baby chicks.
Now you might be wondering why these classrooms got their own chicks, well you might know a 5th grade girl named Karstyn Filzec, and she gave these classrooms their own baby chicks to, in a way, learn more about animals struggles to stay alive and thrive while doing it.The baby chicks are in their 3rd stage on their life cycle, and while we have already suffered a loss in Mrs. Husovskys class, the others are doing great and thriving. These chicks hatched on the 25th of February, and they were very wet when they hatched.
This is what they looked like when they first hatched! (Picture above)
This is when they were in the incubator! (Picture above)
This is what they looked like now mixed colors! (Picture above)
These are the 3 main types of chicks that have hatched, yellow, black, and a mix of yellow, brown, and black.
As we said before, the life of not only chicken’s but ton’s of animals all over the world are hard and terrifying, and if they manage to survive, there are a lot of other dangers that they have to face, but with our chicks, since they are in a healthy and safe environment, they will hopefully grow up to be strong and amazing chickens in the future.
