Batesville Elementary: PBIS Leaders
Bobcat Newsletter 08/28/2017
Last Week's Excellence is this Week's Foundation
All across the campus, each day of our first week there were incredibly high goals being set, dedication being established, and a great sense of Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems (PBIS) in place and making a difference. Students overcame challenges each day: from our PK and Kinder students who were nervous about their first days, to our first time STAAR testers in 3rd grade, to our new campus leaders in 6th grade, there were students understanding the expectations each day and beginning the work toward meeting and surpassing their goals. Let's keep up the great work.
School Wide Enrichment Model Beginning 9/13/2017
Students should begin to select their interest area for exploration over the course of the next two weeks. There are flyers around the campus for the various enrichment opportunities- There is Art and Music with Mr. Rollins & Ms. Sprawls; Teamwork and Relaxation with Ms. Sheedy & Ms. Limones; Fitness Fun with Coach Samarripa & Ms. Lalli, Authors/Readers Clubs and Community Service with Ms. Simpson, Ms. Medrano, & Ms. Garcia; Robotics with Ms. Diaz & Ms. Correa, and Food Service and Custodial learning for students in grades 3-6.
A Campus Ripe with Inspiration. Ready to Excel!!!
It is in the air all across the campus. The University banners, and the classroom designs speak to excitement at what the future holds at our school. The PBIS model mixed with No Excuses expectations is setting the tone for greatness. Our teachers and professional team are stepping up, our students are stepping up, and we are going to arrive each day expecting to reach a little higher, because there is no limit to what we can achieve with hard work, focus, dedication, and persistence. Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Proud!!!
Excellence in Classroom Design Goes to Ms. Diaz
While not an official competition Ms. Diaz has done incredible work getting the momentum moving with her classroom design representing the high charging spirit of our very own local Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College. Ms. Diaz is heading up our 3-6 Science instruction, and has already gotten the lab safety ball rolling with an excellent lesson where Dr. Lopez, Ms. Sheedy, and Ms. Chapoy all took pies to the face to demonstrate safety goggles use and need. Great work Ms. Diaz. Great Work Batesville Elementary Team!
