THIS FRIDAY!
On January 30th, we will be having our back-to-school program, Bailando Con AdEL y Esencia Latina. Join us THIS FRIDAY to see what we have in store for you all this semester, to learn some new moves to break into all of Spring, and to catch up with other members! It'll be a good time to see how you can get involved with us and all of our upcoming programs and festivities! It will be held at 5:30 in the Underground of the Student Center. Can't wait to see you all there!
Monday, February 2nd
We will get back to our regular Monday meetings on February 2nd. Monday's program will consist of a Minority Opportunities presentation by a guest speaker. It is incredibly important that we all know of the resources available to us! Further details will be sent out soon.
TABJ Meeting
Temple's Association of Black Journalists is having a meeting in room 200c on February 5th, titled "Who is Temple?" Attend and help answer the question!
Update Ahora Opportunity
Update Now is a student run show on the Temple channel that delivers news in 90 seconds. Update Ahora is the Spanish version of it. If you are interested in reporting in Spanish or even learning how to work behind the scenes as a camera operator, technical director, audio engineer, and more, contact maryvic.perez@temple.edu.
SOCA'S Immigrant Diaries
This program serves as an opportunity for persons who have directly or indirectly experienced immigrating to the US, to share their stories and experiences. This production was a complete success in 2014, and was the recipient of 'Most Diverse Program'. You can present your story in any way. Let us know if you are interested. The program is scheduled for Feb. 20th at 7pm in the Underground.
We are AdEL
AdEL stands for “Asociación de Estudiantes Latinos”. We are the Latino umbrella organization on campus. We have various groups that are "under us" such as the dance group (Esencia Latina), Latino Greeks, and many more. Not exclusive to just Latinos, we invite everyone and anyone of any race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Our mission is to enhance awareness of Latino issues and heritage in the Temple University community; to provide forum for Latino students; to advocate for issues that have a direct impact on the Latino student body specifically and the Temple community in general; to provide support and resources to the Latino campus community; to facilitate and promote communication among members, to sponsor activities and events that ensure AdEL`s purpose; and to collaborate with other organizations within and outside of Temple University.
