Updates and Reminders
Eastview Elementary School - September 3, 2015
As I've said before, it's not about programs. It's about people. I've also talked about treating everyone as though they are good. In speaking with Mr. Collins this morning, he expressed agreement with those statements and complimented all of us on the welcoming environment we are striving for here at Eastview. Thank you all for keeping Eastview the kind of place our kiddos deserve.
Kudos to Doug, Gary, and Shawn once again for doing such an excellent job cleaning and maintaining our building. On Wednesday evening, the entire administrative team was in the building and many of them went on and on about how nice things are here. In fact, Jane said the building looks better now than it did when she was a student here. As you know, for many of our students, our school building is the cleanest, safest place they have in their lives.

"To read and analyze complex informational and literary texts, students need a path to follow." I saw a great example of this a few moments ago as Annette discussed a text with a third grade student. Please read the article linked here and watch the 8 minute video before our Sept. 14 staff meeting.
- Please continue to check "Eastview Central Perk" each week (http://eastviewcentralperk.blogspot.com/). Last week Joy posted a nice 2 minute video on non-fiction writing. You'll love "The Book with No Pictures" by B.J. Novak (Jessica - You'r an Office fan I believe)
