6th grade Grand Station Celebration Day
Dear Parents and Students,
As we finish the 2017-2018 school year, we are preparing for our end-of-the-year celebration. As a grade level, we will be going to Grand Station on May 30th from 10:00-1:00. We will have bowling (including shoe rental), laser tag and miniature golf. Students will eat a sack lunch before leaving for Grand Station. All students must meet the guidelines below in order to attend the Grand Station Celebration and the student/faculty basketball game. $15 per student is needed to cover Grand Station. Full payment for the field trip is due by May 18th. Please consider donating extra to those not able to afford this expense.
If any of the following occurs, a student will NOT be allowed to attend the field trip to Grand Station and the basketball game. We have gone over these guidelines with the students, and we ask that you review it with your student as well. Both you and your student need to sign the bottom of this page and return it to the Success teacher no later than Friday, April 20th, 2018. These guidelines are effective immediately. We expect every student to be on their best behavior always…
No more than 2 disciplinary referrals after April 9th.
Failing any core class/subject because of incomplete work or missing work for the 6th six weeks.
No overdue library books or fines at all.
Failure to return the signed form excludes your child from participating in the grade level celebration.
ISS or OSS on the days of the celebrations will result in automatic exclusions from them.

Today (Friday, April 13th is my official last day). It has been such a joy and honor to have all of your students in my class this year. Ms. McLean is well equipped and knows exactly what she is doing, she also has an AMAZING team to lean on when unknowns come up. I am extremely confident in her abilities. She will get a CSISD email but until then please email me and she will be able to respond from there until she is set up. Thank you again for all of the support this year! This Week in Social Studies:
We will continue researching for our Culture Books.
Dear Parent or Guardian,
My name is Amanda McLean, I am a senior at Texas A&M University where I am studying education. I graduate in May and this past semester I have been completing my student teaching in the classroom with Mrs. Hardcastle. I have gotten to know your students and enjoy being in the classroom very much. As you may or may not know, Mrs. Hardcastle is expecting her first child shortly and I have been offered the long-term substitute teaching position in her classroom while she is on maternity leave. I am very excited about this opportunity and I feel it will also benefit the students because it will be an easy transition for them as I have already been in the classroom and have gotten to know your students during my student teaching.
I have some really big shoes to fill and have been very fortunate to be learning under her for the past few months. I will continue her policies in the classroom with regards to expectations and grading.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. You can reach me through Mrs. Hardcastle’s email until I am assigned one by the district.
