Popcorn Sale Great Success!
From our School Nurse
Throughout the pandemic and beyond, society uses more devices or screens. Children and adults need to remember that every 20 minutes take a 20 second break to look at an object 20 feet away. Adults can engage their children to identify things that are 20 feet away. Have some fun with measuring. Use a measuring tape, or a ruler to measure someone's feet to see who's are 12 inches long. Pace out the 20 foot mark and use that as your item or place to look for 20 seconds after using a screen for 20 minutes.
This is also a reminder to schedule yourself for a yearly eye exam. Now more than ever people should begin scheduling those eye exams they put off or cancelled due to the pandemic. If you need help with where to locate any eye clinic or to pay for an exam or glasses, reach out. The school nurses have access to great resources to support the needs you and your family may have.
