Dear SHMS Families:

I would like to thank all of our students and staff for a very spirited week. I would like to give a special shout-out to our Student Council members for organizing SHMS Spirit Week. It was wonderful seeing students and staff having fun as a school community.

The first interest meeting was held for this year’s musical. We are excited to announce that SHMS will be putting on a production of Shrek the Musical. Students should reach out to Mrs. Elsheakh if they are interested in participating in the musical and did not attend the interest meeting.

I have a few reminders for next week. Students are off next Tuesday, November 8th for teacher in-service. The first marking period will end on Friday, November 11th. We are still looking for teams for volleyball night, which will take place on November 15th. This event is open to all students. Sign-up forms can be found outside the library.

Jazz Band News:

There will be Jazz Band makeup auditions on Monday 11/7 from 2:30-3:30 pm. If you are interested in auditioning but cannot attend during these times, please contact Mrs Williams or Mr. McLaughlin to reschedule.

6th Orchestra News:

Due to Jazz Band auditions, there will be NO 6TH GRADE ORCHESTRA REHEARSAL ON 11/7. There WILL be lessons during the day as scheduled.

SHMS Families- Reminder that Monday is the last day of our candy drive, Treats for Troops. Please send in any extra Halloween candy or full bags for us to send to our soldiers. We have already collected over 100 pounds and are looking to double our collection. Thank you for your generosity.

Strath Haven ultimate frisbee competed in the first ever Philadelphia area middle school ultimate frisbee tournament on 10/29. The team comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students went undefeated to capture their ever first tournament win.
