BHMS Principal's Update 10/31/22
Happy Halloween and Happy November
Keeping Up with What is Going on at the Hill!!!
Hi Bulldog Families,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. Today is Halloween and we hope you and your family have a fun evening. As November approaches, we wanted to keep you abreast of what is going on at BHMS. BHMS is all about giving back. Please see the ways we can give back this upcoming season and fundraiser to support all these good efforts. As you read through this, please let us know if you need clarification on anything. Special thanks to all the parents who support us during the Harvest Dance. It was certainly a team effort to make that a great evening.
Be safe!
Sincerely,
Mike D'Ostilio

ON THE ATHLETICS PAGE....
Make sure you review the "Participation Information" as well as "Forms and Paperwork." Reminder:
- A student cannot try out or practice for any sport without a verified athletic physical.
- Physicals must be in at least 3-4 weeks prior to the first practice. It takes at least 3 weeks to review. The nurse has to verify the form, then send it to the district doctor who reviews the form. Sometimes the doctor does not endorse the physical and asks the nurse to go back to the families for more information. This could be a long process.
- Wrestling Practices begin 11/29. Basketball tryouts are the first week of December.
- Contact Coach Falzone ( kfalzone@wtps.org ) for Wrestling. Coach Meo (mmeo@wtps.org) and Coach Heston (mheston@wtps.org) for girls basketball and Coach Hillard (khillard@wtps.org) for boys basketball.
- Also, if your child would like to participate in the BHMS Get Moving or Dance Clubs, your child also needs a physical.
IDs are to be worn at all times...Please make sure you child has them
We are continuing to iron out this procedure, but all students seemed to have adapted quickly to this. We encourage students to keep their IDs in their lockers overnight. However, while not ideal, if they leave their ID at home, we will give them a temporary ID throughout the day. We strongly encourage students to keep their IDs with them at all times. This is highly important for safety reasons.
This new procedures promotes safety and the preservation of instructional time for the students. This allows to keep track of students, how long they are out of class, and the frequency by which they are out of class. This new program allows us to sort using an excel spreadsheet and then address only those individuals who are frequently out of the classroom. There is no additional change or procedure your child has to do except get into the habit of bringing their ID cards.

Building Better Bulldogs (3Bs) Mission and Vision
This pandemic has created so many questions and concerns for students that are well beyond academics. We are committed to providing a safe environment where students can express themselves as they question the ebb and flow of their world around them.
