Principal's Message

Hello, PHS Parents! We had a GREAT first semester and are looking forward to a spring semester full of learning and fun. Since our 2020 spring semester was abruptly cut short last year, continuing with school and all of our planned student competitions and activities is very important to us. Please see the reminders about our classroom safety protocols below and talk with your student about the importance of wearing a mask, washing their hands, and practicing social distancing not only in school but out in the community as well. We are confident that our safety/cleaning protocols and COVID related quarantine procedures are keeping our students, staff members, and everyone's extended family safe. Please encourage your student to talk with an administrator if they have any questions or concerns about our safety measures.

As you are aware, we continue to make adjustments to our schedule of events and have changed our Prom date and venue to allow for more guests to attend. Check out the list of important upcoming events/dates below:

Upcoming Events:

  • Friday, February 5th--Report cards mailed home
  • Tuesday, February 9th--ELA I Benchmark for all 9th graders
  • Thursday, February 11th--ELA II Benchmark for all 10th graders
  • Monday, February 15th--Staff development; No school students

Also, a parent survey was sent out from PISD last week and will be open until Friday, February 5th. Lastly, if you have not already done so, please take a minute to complete a quick form to recognize a PHS staff member. Receiving a word of praise from a parent is one of the highest compliments an educator can receive. Follow this link to give a staff member a shoutout. Please feel free to contact me directly at my email link below if you have any questions specific to high school or suggestions for improvement.

Sincerely,

Twila M. Guajardo

Proud Principal
