The Eagle Update

The Excel Academy Weekly Newsletter: May 1, 2023

Greetings Excel Community,

We are in the final weeks of school. There are several events happening this month, so please be sure to check the school website calendar for accurate dates. Huge thanks for your continued flexibility as we navigate different, and often changing, weather conditions. Everyone wants to make sure that students and families can enjoy all the wonderful offerings while dry, warm, and comfortable.

Special thanks to students and families who supported our very own, Blake Cooper, at Gigi's Glo Run this past Saturday! It was a fun time to support Gigi's Playhouse, an amazing resource center for people with Down Syndrome in our community!

Be sure to check email and the calendar for updates throughout the month for events to bring the fun and sun to our days!

Here we go into May!

Mom's Night Out - Save the Date! Wednesday, May 17th from 7pm to 10pm

Calling all Excel Family Moms, Grandmoms, Caretakers, and anyone who loves a good girl’s night out, let's get together to make new friends, meet up with old friends, and have some good old fashioned fun! This is our last one of the school year where we welcome all of our new moms joining the crew next year! This is a very casual get together. Leave the kids at home and come grab food if you'd like, drinks, or just the camaraderie. We would love to have you join us. And don't worry if you don't know anyone...we will introduce you (there will be name tags!). Location and evite coming next week!

PTO Members Wanted!

The PTO is still looking for some new members for the 2023-2024 school year! We have some great goals, and we need your help to make them happen! The PTO will forego elections this year, as we want as many folks as we can get within our community to help us redefine what next year will bring. We’ve learned that our community’s needs are evolving in ways we couldn’t have predicted and our approach to what community activities look like next year also needs to evolve. Come help us redefine how we WANT to come together!

Come help us define:
What our VISION is for our community
What it looks like to participate in that effort
What WE can build together for next year.

Come help us toward:
Creating Core Memories
Bringing Families together in Community
Building Lasting Connection

Please reach out to us to learn what it’s all about! Fill out the interest form found on the front page of the PTO website to join the PTO and secure your invite to the May planning meeting! You can find our contact details and more information on our website: excelpto.org

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up May 8th - 12th!

Don't forget to help our students share their gratitude for our very special teachers in whatever way makes the most sense for you and your family!
