Online Resources

Soon, your child's teacher will be sending you information about setting up an account on SpellingCity.com. This website is a wonderful way for your child to practice spelling and vocabulary words daily. There are games and practice tests as well as a means of tracking your child's progress. Even before you get the login info from your child's teacher, you can still get onto Spelling City, add your child's spelling list, and start practicing!

ReadTheory.org is a great website for practicing and improving reading comprehension. Soon, you should receive login information for your child so that he can use this site at home. This website gives excellent test prep for reading comprehension and allows you to track your child's progress and effort.

Khan Academy is a HUGE resource for learning. If your child hasn't set up an account on Khan Academy, I highly encourage you to do that today! There's Khan Academy kids for our younger students as well. Both are great extensions of what your child is learning in school!

These are all excellent resources to extend your child's learning and prepare for tests. We know that memorizing facts does not equal learning, so the more at home practice you can give your child, the better! Plus, these are great things to have your child do on a "Snow Day" or other day off of school!

Ties and Tiaras

Don't miss out on this special PTO sponsored event for our St. Patrick girls to share with the special male role models in their lives!

Whether you're a father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, cousin, or family friend, you play a big role in the girls' lives and we want to celebrate you! For one night only, you can take your princess(es) out for a night on the town where you will all be treated like royalty. We invite you to put on your Sunday best, and get ready to hit the dance floor.

This event is open to ALL, so invite your family and friends to share in the fun!

Advanced tickets can be purchased in the school office. For more information on this special event, contact the school office at: info@stpatrickkc.com.

Snake Saturday Parade

The annual Snake Saturday Parade is coming and our volunteers, led by Denise Wilderson, are ready to get to work! Your help is needed in a BIG way.

How can you help?

1. Float construction will begin soon and will be held every Wednesday night from 5-8pm downstairs in the church.

2. We are asking all school families to donate ONE large bag of candy for the parade.

3. We are inviting all school families to join in the fun on Saturday, March 16 as we walk in the annual Snake Saturday parade. Dress in all the green you can find, along with your official St. Patrick Snake Saturday sweatshirt (coming soon) and join in the fun!

Contact the school office at info@stpatrickkc.com for more information.

Promoting Positive Mental Health

If you're like me, you are constantly worried about your kids. I'm always asking myself: Am I raising good kids? Are they kind? Are they hardworking? Will they be successful? Will they contribute to society? More and more, I find myself adding to the list of questions. Are they happy? Are they mentally, as well as physically, strong?

Raising kids today is HARD! We are a constantly moving society with 24 hour access to news reports and social media. It's not something we can easily change, so how do we adapt and ensure our kids are "okay"?

Below, you will find some links that help you promote positive mental healthy in your family, as well as identifying times when your child might be struggling. I hope you will find some value in these resources!

Facebook Marketing

One of the easiest and most affordable marketing tools we have is social media. Have you liked our St. Patrick School Facebook page? If not, I encourage you to do that today! You'll get updates on events, pictures of happenings around school, and much more!

By liking and sharing our posts, we can reach even more people who can learn what St. Patrick School has to offer!

Did you know we have an Instagram and Twitter page as well? Be sure to look us up and follow us today!

Sharing our Flyers

Do you know anyone who is unhappy with their current school? Or someone with an incoming kindergartener? Maybe you have a friend who is looking for something different?

Would you be willing to share some information about our school and ECC program in your office lounge (or other appropriate space) or with a group of friends?

We want to focus on spreading the word about what St. Patrick has to offer and could use your help. If you are willing to share some flyers at work, email the school office and we will send some home with your child.

Did you know that if you refer a family who registers with St. Patrick School or ECC, you can receive a discount on your registration fees? Just have the new family mention your name at the time of registration!

St. Patrick School

The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
