Pediatrician Tasks
- Examine children regularly to assess their growth and development
- Treat children who have minor illness, acute, and chronic health problems, growth, and development concerns
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to teat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children
- Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis
Pediatricians Working Conditions
- Work in small private offices or clinics
- Practicing in groups or healthcare organizations
- work long, irregular hours
- some work more than 50 hrs.
- They travel between offices
Degree/Certificate/Training Necessary
Degree:
- For a pediatrician you need at least a bachelors degree and advanced degree
- Also a D.O. degree
- Physics
- Biology
- Mathematics
- English
- Inorganic and organic chemistry
- You have to have a desire to serve patients
- Be self-motivated and be able to survive the pressures and long hours of medical education and practice
- Good beside manner, emotional stability
Yearly Salary Range and State
Yearly Range:
- $56,560 to $179,320
- Missouri
