2021-22 Learning Environment Options for Students

Forsyth County Schools will again offer students and their families a choice of learning environments for the 2021-22 school year. We ask that you thoughtfully consider the learning environment in which your child will be most successful. The choice you make will determine staffing for thousands of school employees and 51,400+ student schedules, so it is critical that families are confident and certain in their decision. There will only be one chance, at the semester break in December/January, to make a change in your child’s learning environment for 2021-22.

On Monday, April 12 we will send you a survey to select the learning environment for your child for the next school year. If you have more than one child, you will need to complete a survey for each child. If you do not submit a response to the survey by Friday, April 30, your child’s placement will default to learning in-person at school for 2021-22.

Middle schools will offer 3 choices:

  1. In-person learning at school, or
  2. Virtual learning at home in a live, synchronous environment, or
  3. Virtual learning at home in a self-paced, asynchronous environment

Watch this video to learn more about these options.

Chorus Concert Series This Week!

The RMS Chorus program is proud to present our End of the Year concert series this Wednesday, April 21st and Thursday April 22nd. The 6th grade will perform on Wednesday at 6PM. The 7th and 8th will perform together on Thursday at 6PM. Selections will include folk songs, musical theatre numbers, and songs from around the world. Since we cannot house an audience AND our choirs in the cafeteria at the same time, we will be hosting these concerts virtually. Parents can watch our concerts at RMS Concert Streams . In addition, parents can listen to our concert on the radio at 102.7FM from nearby the school. Our students have been working very hard this year. We are looking forward to sharing our performances with you!

We want your OLD Phones!

The school is in need of old phones that are within 5 years of age. Our Invention, Innovation & Technological Systems classes will benefit greatly from these devices and help recycle the materials.
