Notes from our Nurse
In preparation for next school year, if your student has food allergies or other allergies, asthma, seizure, or diabetes you will need to complete additional health forms located at the following link: http://www.sycamoreschools.org/Page/2309. If your child will have a prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medication for school next year, the doctor must sign a new medication administration form for each new school year.
Please plan to have the medication administration form completed early in the summer, so orders are on file for the first day of school. No medication may be given without a new medication administration form signed by the health care provider and parents each school year. Please email ferronj@sycamoreschools.org for further questions or concerns regarding your student’s health at school or medications.
If your student will be attending summer school and will need to have access to emergency medications, please contact Benjamin Schneider-
schneiderb@sycamoreschools.org
I hope you and your family enjoy a healthy and safe summer.
Sincerely,
Julie Ferron MS, RN, NCSN

Hello Symmes Parents!
During the month of May, there will be a collection of used or new shoes to help support YOU TO THE RESCUE in downtown Montgomery. You to the Rescue is a non-profit, upscale resale boutique that sells donated men's, women's, and children's clothing, accessories, home goods, and small furniture items. The proceeds for the shoe drive will benefit the Animal Adoption Foundation. Collected shoes are used to support micro-enterprise vendors who are small businesses in developing nations. ANY type and size of gently worn shoes are accepted. We are hoping to meet a collection goal by the end of the month. There will be a bin placed outside the front door of Symmes to place donations in or you can drop them off at the store at 9510 Montgomery Rd.
Thank you very much for your support.
If you have questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Chuey at chueym@sycamoreschools.org.

Dear Parents,
I wanted to share a reminder for those parents who have medication in the school clinic. At the end of the year, an adult must pick up medication by June 3rd. Medication is NOT allowed to be transported by a child. Medication remaining in the clinic office past the last day of school must be discarded. This includes inhalers and Epipens. Please email Mrs. Ferron (ferronj@sycamoreschools) to set up a date to pick up your child’s medication. It will be brought out to you at the designated time scheduled.

Drop up/Pick up Reminders
If you drop off or pick up your student please remember the following:
- Use care when entering and exiting our driveway. Please don't block the driveway intersection at Enyart.
- Stay in your car.
- Pull your car up to the car in front of you.
- Turn off your car while you are waiting.
- At pick up, flip your car tag to the white side once all your students are in the car. This is an easy way for the adults helping to know that you are ready to go!
- At pick up, students will enter your car from the CENTER aisle and find their appropriate seat once in the car. Please DO NOT encourage your child to walk around the front (or back) of your car in order to get into your car.
Thank you!
LOST AND FOUND
We accumulate a number of lost and found items. As a reminder, please clearly label all belongings with your child’s last name. Here is our process for attempting to reunite items with their owners:
Every Friday in our building newsletter we will include a picture of current lost and found items.
If you see an item that belongs to your child, please remind them to claim that item in the cafeteria during their lunch. They can notify any staff member in the cafeteria that they need to claim their item.
If your child forgets, you can email their teacher to ask for help reminding the student.
Your child will have 1 week to claim the item.
After 1 week, all items accumulated in the Lost and Found will be removed from the building.
Here are this weeks' lost and found items:
