Welcome to our NEW Board Members!
Cynthia Lipsig
I fell into edtech completely by accident. I signed up for a Masters program with the words science and technology in the title- turned out to be science of instruction. There I met Will Kimbley, who introduced me to CUE in 2011 and I have been an active conference attendee, volunteer and presenter since then. I earned my Teacher of the Year for my district because of my never ending need to innovate my curriculum, environment, and teaching techniques in order to best serve each of my students. I have been working with children since 1986 and as a facilitator of learning experiences in a formal classroom since 2005. My influence within my district is small but I actively promote good pedagogy supported by innovative technology tools. I have lead professional development workshops at the few non designated PD days our district has offered. Other pedigrees include: Resource Area for Teachers Fellow; MERIT cohort 2012; and certified Raspberry pi educator; Google Level I and as soon as I have 3 hours to sit in front of a computer undisturbed- Google Level II!

I am the Ed Tech at North Salinas High School as well as a yearbook adviser. As the Ed Tech, I inspire my staff to use technology efficiently in order to reduce work load as well as to engage students by using the 4C's. Some of my favorite past collaborative projects include: PBIS videos, green screening, student portfolios, book trailers, logic branching in Google Forms, collaborative slide decks, logic branching with slide decks, and HyperDocs. My claim to fame would be: student engagement! I love learning how to make learning fun! My goal for this year is to gamify staff Ed Tech PD through the use of a HyperDoc Choice Board. If elected, my MBCUE goal is to bring more people, ideas, and energy together. #Synergy

I was born and raised in Salinas, CA. I am an educator that loves empowering his students and finds fulfillment in helping others. As an Educational Technology Coordinator for a local school district, I am able to help students and teachers connect with technology to create more meaningful and engaging classrooms that meet the needs of our current student population. I am an out of the box thinker and I enjoy taking risks in the classroom. I am always learning and I work hard to share my excitement with my students and teachers.
I attended CSU- Sacramento for my undergrad studies and I have been an educator for 5 years. I am married and we have three energetic, loving, and fearless children. When I am not working, I am usually with my family, enjoying the beautiful Monterey County weather.

Get Involved!
We would also like to thank everyone who threw their hat in the ring. Even if this wasn’t your year, we hope you keep us in mind in the future because elections are held annually.
Besides being on the board, we also have some wonderful opportunities to still make a difference in our region. We are currently looking for volunteers to serve on our Student Powered Earth Day Film Festival sub-committee, as well as the sub-committee for our upcoming conference on Digital Citizenship. These are great ways to get involved. If this sparks your interest, please contact us at montereybaycue@gmail.com.
