WINKLER WEEKLY
Friday, September 18th
A MESSAGE FROM MR. GRAHAM
We had a great week at Winkler School and time seems to be flying by!
We are just finishing up our first round of our i-Ready assessments and students have done a fantastic job working through the assessments! For those new to the District, i-Ready is a web-based adaptive diagnostic assessment and instruction program. It assesses students' reading skills and math skills based on our state standards. Results from the assessments along with classroom work help us determine students' strengths and target areas.
The best thing we can do to help our students increase their academic success and beyond is to read with our children. Decades of early literacy research provides convincing evidence the best way an adult can help a child’s cognitive development and increase their academic success and beyond is to read with them every day. Please remind your child to read or read with them, especially when they say they have nothing to do for school.
