Welcome Back!

Dear Students and Families,

Greetings and welcome back to school!!! We hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and you are excited about the wonderful opportunities in front of us with the 17-18 school year. We have been busy finishing student schedules, attending professional development sessions, and planning great learning activities. While that is fun, school is not the same without students and we look forward to everyone's return on August 28th! This newsletter is to ease the transition back to school by providing information to help students be prepared for their 1st day of school. More information can be found in the student handbook posted on our school website.

If you have questions about anything contained within this newsletter, please don't hesitate to email me. My contact information is on the bottom of this form.

* Career/STEM class fee--$2.00

* Vocal Music--$5.00

* Band or Orchestra--$10.00

This insurance assessment will help assist the district with costs associated with supporting the devices, as well as any accidental damages. Hardship waivers will be available for families requiring assistance with this nominal charge.

Student Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival: School opens for students at 7:30. Students that arrive between 7:15 and 7:30 may sit on the gym bleachers until 7:30 when school opens. If students are eating breakfast, they are to go directly to the cafeteria to get their breakfast and then eat in their homerooms. Classes start at 7:50 and students are considered tardy if they arrive after that time. It is wise for students to arrive on campus by 7:45, so they can make it to their classes by 7:50. Students being dropped off in the morning will use the circle drive closest to the main office.

Dismissal: Walkers and car-riders are dismissed at 3:00 pm. Walkers are to go out the front door nearest the office. Car-riders are to exit the side of the building closest to Northside HS. Parents of car-riding students are to pickup their child at the NSHS circle drive. Bus riders and athletes are dismissed at 3:05 pm.
