Panther Post
September 18th - September 23rd
Hello Lopez Families,
This past week we held our annual parent night and it was great to meet everyone. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you to our PALS and NJHS students for always helping out where needed and being here so late to assist with directions.
I also mentioned our fundraiser for the year. Panther Challenge should be a big hit with the kids. We have a really cool shirt that comes with a donation of $20 or more. Right now we are accepting sponsorships to get family names or company logos on the back. So if you wish to, or if you know someone who would be interested, please see the sign-up form down below.
Picture day is coming up! Flyers went home friday so make sure you check with your kids. October 3rd is the big day so make sure they dress the way you want them to, lol.
During Parent Night, I mentioned we were going to put on a couple help sessions on Google Classroom and Launchpad for parents. We have two slots for Wednesday after school. Click here to sign up.
If you are interested in a dance clinic for your kids, please see the flier below.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mr. Wernli

9/8-9/22 Habit 1 –Be Proactive
Habit 1 - Be Proactive means to take responsibility for your choices and behaviors.
Habit 1 is the key to the other habits. Be Proactive says, “I am in charge of my own life. I am responsible for whether things go well or not. I can choose how I react to other people or situations. I am in the “driver’s seat.” Teens understand that different choices bring different results. The goal is to teach them to think about those results before they decide what to do. Discussions can focus on taking care of themselves, taking care of homework, reacting or not reacting to others’ behavior, planning things out, and thinking about what the right thing to do is.

SHARPEN THE SAW
As we bid greetings to the 2017-2018 school year and good-bye to Summer 2017, it is good to reflect on our accomplishments. Our community is comprised of hard working, highly devoted people. As we work hard, we also take time to reward ourselves (Sharpen the Saw). Won’t you please share your experiences of how you have sharpened your saw by sending family photos of events and vacations you have enjoyed recently with Lopez Middle School?
Please share your photos by emailing them to Mr. Toback at ftobac@neisd.net or by bringing developed pictures to Lopez Middle School. The pictures can be grayscale or color. They will be displayed inside the school for all to enjoy.
