How can the ACT help students?

Did you know that the ACT can help students receive higher merit scholarships? Example: At AZ schools the ACT is not required for admission however a Science Score of 20 can replace one required Science core. An English Score of 21 can replace all English core, and a Math Score of 24 can replace all Math core. A little practice will go a long way!!

Greetings Gilbert High School Families,

Gilbert Public Schools will be administering the ACT© to all currently enrolled 11th graders on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 and the ACT Aspire© to all currently enrolled 9th graders on Tuesday, April, 11, 2023 . Both of these assessments are components of the required Arizona State Assessments that students participate in as a measurement of college and career readiness. These assessments consist of five subtests: English, Reading, Mathematics, Science and Writing. Transportation will be provided for all students on this day at the regular time and then again four hours later.

The details for the late start dates coming up include:

  1. April 4th- ACT- Students enrolled in grade 11 will arrive at school at the normal start time (7:30 AM). This will be a Late Start Day schedule for students in grades 9, 10, and 12. Transportation will be provided for all students on this day at the normal time and then again four hours later. Late start students should plan on arriving at school by 11:30 AM. Additional details regarding the schedule will be sent out closer to the testing date.

  1. April 11th- ACT Aspire- Students enrolled in grade 9 will arrive at school at the normal start time (7:30 AM). This will be a Late Start Day schedule for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Transportation will be provided for all students on this day at the normal time and then again four hours later. Late start students should plan on arriving at school by 11:30 AM. Additional details regarding the schedule will be sent out closer to the testing date.

Please direct specific questions regarding ACT administration to Assistant Principal, Stacia Cantrell.

Sincerely,

GHS Administration
