CMS Families,

A LOT of positive energy filled the halls and classrooms this week during Random Acts of Kindness Week (RAK)! My favorite event this week was watching students deliver "Kindness Grams" to current and former teachers recognizing them for the positive impact they have had on them. Last week, during a mandated building inspection, the inspector attended CMS about 15 years ago. Not only did she recognize and seek out former teachers, but several teachers remembered her by name as they shared old memories. We are so fortunate to have a group of staff members who value the importance of forming positive, lasting connections with students.


Our Student Council created and passed out Valentine Grams to EVERY student in the building this week. Attached to the card was a little treat. The Valentine Grams were WELL received by the students and added to our "Kindness" theme.


I have everyone enjoys their long weekend.

7th Grade Scheduling for Chardon High School-UPDATED

7th Grade Scheduling Timeline:


Chardon HS will be hosting an 8th Grade Parent Informational Night on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 6:30pm in the MS LGIR. All parents of 7th-grade students are encouraged to attend. It is not necessary for students to attend this meeting, but they are welcome. 7th-grade students will be receiving similar information during a 7th-grade presentation that morning.


CHS Counselors will be discussing the scheduling process and timeline, course and building opportunities, course selection, and other considerations.


Feb. 21, 2023

  • Student presentation in the LGIR from 10:15-11:00 AM
  • Parent Information Night in the LGIR at 6:30 PM


Feb. 22, 2023

  • CHS 8th Grade Counselor Mrs. Tupaz will stop down to answer questions regarding scheduling during Advisory and Core 1 (7:45-9:10 AM)


Mar. 1st, 2023

  • CHS 8th Grade Counselor Mrs. Tupaz and Mrs. Stuart will meet with Social Studies classes in the LGIR to guide students in scheduling course requests in Infinite Campus. *Students need to have their scheduling worksheets completed and available.*
  • Core 1 (8:05-9:07)
  • Core 2 (9:10-10:12)
  • Core 3 (11:00-11:44 and 12:33-12:54)
  • Core 4 (12:57-1:58)

CHS PInk Shirt Day

CHS Student Athletes: Drago Vujaklija and Andrew Bruce (both class of 2024) are sharing their Pink Shirt Day Information with you. Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday, February 22, 2023. They hope everyone will wear pink to show support for all anti-bullying efforts around the District and world.

Builders Club

Builder’s Club is for students in grades 4,5,6, and 7 who want to take an active role in bettering their community through service and leadership. Members participate in community service projects and help plan fundraisers. Builders Club visited Rescue Village this past Wednesday, February 15th to tour and learn about all the organization and its impact on our community. Students received a tour from Rescue Village employees and volunteers and then helped complete service projects for the facility.
