Where Excellence is the Standard - Week of January 3, 2022
RANDLE HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE
Dear Lions,
I would like to welcome you all to the start of 2022!
I hope that you all had a pleasant holiday with the opportunity to spend time with friends and family and that you are now well-rested and rejuvenated, ready for a new semester. Last semester provided our students new beginnings, new opportunities, new teachers, and new friends. Our students should now be very clear of campus expectations, processes, and procedures. We look forward to a great start this Tuesday as students return to campus.
I understand that parents may have concerns regarding the pandemic. Please remember your child's safety and well-being comes first. Students who are feeling ill or have a fever should stay home. We are still following the same protocols as it relates to COVID-19; please refer to the recent email from Dr. Nivens. If you have questions or receive a positive COVID test, you should contact Nurse Folkens immediately via email at Jennifer.Folkens@LCISD.org or 832-223-5826. The sooner we receive information; the sooner we can begin our remote learning process.
January marks the beginning of course selection for the 2022/23 school year. Randle High School and Wright Junior High School will be hosting a curriculum showcase for all current 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students. Our goal is to provide students and parents an opportunity to learn about new course offerings for the upcoming school year. Parent University will also be offered where presentations will be provided covering AP Courses/Dual Credit/On-Ramps, Rank and GPA, College Admissions, and Graduation Requirements (House Bill 5). Parents will have the freedom to attend one or all presentations as well as visit the curriculum showcase in the cafeteria. You will have the ability to meet teachers, and learn about courses (current courses and new opportunities).
I would like to commend all of students for their hard work during the first semester. I would also like to thank all of the parents for their support during the first semester. Because of our community support we are creating a culture of high expectations and a standard of excellence.
I trust this New Year will be nothing short of amazing because of you.
