VOLUNTEER DESPERATELY NEEDED!!!

M.A.R.C.H UPDATE

We have 10 days left! We want to finish on a good ‘note’ ! This is an all band and guard community fundraiser. We need everyone to participate. Mr. Moon & Mr. Long sent an email last Thursday, February 20th. It summarizes very nicely key information.


We still have time to collect donations. The goal is $400 per student. YOU can do any of the following to make this happen. It’s really quite easy.

There you can even download the file: DONOR PACKAGES FLYER. Print as many as you wish! Its easy to pass around to friends, neighbors and co-workers.


3. All cash and checks must be turned in by Friday, March 6 in our band mail box located in the school’s front office. Be sure your student(s) name is on the envelope. ☺


Save the date! March 7th is our Service Day from 8am – 4pm.


  • Students and parents come to the band room with water and work gloves. Lunch arrangements are still being finalized.

  • Students can select their work site right now. Sign up sheets are in the band room. We have 12 locations to choose from.

  • We must have parent volunteers. Please help! We need 30 adults to help us at the sites. Sign-ups can be done online. You can pick a work site at:

INDOOR DRUMLINE RESULTS


Congratulations to our Indoor Drumline for PLACING THIRD in last weekend’s competition at the WGI Orlando Regional. Our students had a great time in Orlando and saw some amazing performances!


Wish them luck March 14th as they compete in Lambert High School in Suwanee, GA!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS!

CONGRATULATIONS to Molly Canty, Skyler Franklin and Mitchell Loverde for earning the leadership roles of Drum Major for the 2020 Marching Band Season.


Congratulations to Harita Yepuri, Emma Holm and the entire Wind Ensemble Alto Saxophone Sections (Kate Gonda, Robbue Vrojlik and Nate Greve) for earning the Outstanding Senior Award. The students were selected by teachers as being the top of their class!

BAND ROOM SUPPLIES NEEDED

We could use a few cleaning supplies in the band room, especially during flu and cold season. If you have any extras at home, please ask your student to bring them in. It helps a lot. Thank you!

REMINDER: LEADERSHIP INTERVIEWS ON MARCH 4

“Today is the only day of the year that tells you to do something.”


Leadership Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. To apply, students should have:

  • printout of transcript (for G.P.A.)
  • two letters of recommendation
  • a resume’
  • a Servant Leader Commitment form signed by parent

REGISTRATION NIGHT MONDAY, 3/30

All new and returning marching band and concert band members should plan to attend Registration Night (formerly known as “Commitment Night) on Monday, 3/30 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Band Room. Parents and students are welcome. We will be distributing sign-up forms, taking initial deposits, talking about band camp, reviewing volunteer opportunities and more. (If you have a friend or neighbor interested in learning more about marching band or color guard, please bring them with you.) It’s going to be a fun and informative evening!



SENIOR PHOTOS

It's that time of year to get your photo taken for the band banquet. Every year we take individual senior photos, mat and frame them. Everyone at the band banquet gets to sign the mats and we will frame them and you get to take your signed, framed photo home that night. There is absolutely no charge; it’s the band's gift to you! No matter what band (Marching, Classroom, Color Guard, Winter Guard, Indoor Drumline, Jazz Band) you participate.

The annual RHS Band Awards Banquet will be held on May 8th from 6:30-9:00pm. The theme is “Masquerade Ball” and semi-formal attire is encouraged. Stay tuned for more details and ticket pricing closer to the event.
