2020 Election
Resources for all Grade Levels
This right to vote is the basic right without which all others are meaningless. It gives people, people as individuals, control over their own destinies.
-Lyndon B. Johnson
Teaching Elections
This SMORE will have a list of resources that can be used to teach the election process and how all of our governments work (local, state, and national). Be sure you read your Citizenship and Government TEKS to know what the state of Texas requires for public school students. As social studies teachers, it is our job to teach students about the voting process and active citizenship, not our personal viewpoints.
If this is your first election to teach, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have!!! We can zoom, email, or talk on the old-fashion phone! sblankenship@esc17.net, 806-281-5884.
