Unit Overviews

In 2A, this week we started some new and exciting units across all subject areas!

Reading: In Reading we are learning about how to choose just-right books for our book bags. Ask your son or daughter to show you how to do a 5-finger check! We have also continued to work on building stamina and read for 18 minutes without stopping yesterday!

Writing: We've launched our Personal Narrative unit and it has been so much fun to start writing small moment stories about our lives. Over the holiday, please encourage your child to jot down story ideas in his or her tiny-topic notebook!

Math: Students have been practicing adding and subtracting numbers to 10, playing math games and working on computation. We have reviewed some strategies, and introduced some strategies for addition and subtraction, that we will continue to use, and build upon, all year.

Social Studies: In Social Studies, we are learning about the communities we are a part of (family, classroom, school, sports teams, neighborhood or compound, etc.) and discussing our rights and responsibilities within those communities.

Please see the unit letters attached below for more information about our units.
