Fourth and Fifth Grade PEAK
Mrs. Turner's April News
Spring Showcase
Our 4th/5th grade PEAK Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Alexander Doniphan.
One of our gifted goals is to give students an opportunity to practice public speaking. The format for Showcase will be presentation style. Students will stand by their projects between 6:05 and 6:30 and give 5 mini presentations. You will start with your own child and then rotate through 4 other students to hear what they have to say!
In the final 30 minutes, you will have an opportunity to view student projects on a come and go basis. At the end of the evening, please plan to take your child's work home.

Middle School Placement
With middle school just around the corner for 5th graders, I've been getting questions about PEAK placement.
There are 3 PEAK classes at the middle level- reading, math, and science. They replace regular reading, math, and science. 5th graders take I-Ready reading and math in the fall and spring. Qualifying criteria is 95% or better on either fall or spring results. They also take the Performance Series science in the fall and spring. Same criteria- 95% or better. Parent letters regarding placement will be sent at the end of the school year.
