No School - November 23-27

There is so much to be thankful for and we are especially thankful and grateful for our Barbara Morgan STEM Academy students, families and staff. We have had so many families reach out to BMSA staff, showering them with gratitude and support. BMSA families also continue to help one another by donating school supplies, food items and much needed clothing items to families in need. This week, as a result of food donations and charitable contributions, we were able to provide over twenty Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Your support is far reaching and we thank you!

Thank you for being such an amazing school community!

Enjoy this week (November 23-27) with your family. We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on Monday, November 30.

BMSA Roaring Rocket Read-A-Thon is here!

We are excited to announce our Annual BMSA Roaring Rocket Read-A-Thon is underway! Now is a great time to jump into a reading adventure and earn money to support many of the awesome programs we have at BMSA. Sponsored by our wonderful PTO, our Read-A-Thon celebrates and encourages reading, education and student accomplishments.

Last Friday, your student should have brought home the Roaring Rocket Read-A-Thon packet with information about the event, prize details, reading requirements, and a donation pledge form. It can also be found here, click or copy and paste into your web browser: https://tinyurl.com/y64zzen5

Read-A-Thon Dates:

December 6-12:

Students begin selecting the books they are excited to read. They ask family and friends for pledges (a donation amount per minute the student reads or a fixed amount donation).

December 13-19:

Read, read, read! Students log their reading minutes and turn in the reading logs DAILY. Students can read by themselves, on an educational app, or with a 'helper' (family/friend reading with them).

*Parents, please initial the reading logs daily.

Every student who participates and turns in their log sheet daily will visit the PRIZE PATROL for a daily reading prize.

At the end of the Read-A-Thon, based on pledges submitted by January 5th, two students from every grade level will receive a $15 BMSA Gift Certificate to purchase books through Scholastic. The students will be selected based on the most minutes read and the student that raised the most money for our school.

December 20- January 3:

Students collect pledge money. Pledge donations may be made by check to BMSA PTO or by scanning the Venmo QR code on the pledge form.

Happy READING!
