Understanding Self-Care
July 1-August 5
Has the last few years of teaching tested your resiliency? Do you feel like your administrator or colleagues remind you to practice self-care but you're not sure what that is or what it looks like? The purpose of this course is to provide teachers with the opportunity to assess their current practice of self-care and add to their tool kits to better practice self-care. Take a deep dive into your physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and environmental self-care. Participants will finish this course with a self-care plan they can put into practice.

Considering your ELLs with Culturally Responsive Teaching

Participants will be able to create instructional plans using knowledge of both ELLs and Culturally Responsive Teaching methods.

Creating Classroom Community
July 6-27
Classroom management, behavior management, token systems, classroom jobs- whatever you want to call it, your classroom needs to function effectively and efficiently in order for students to learn. Kids love structure and predictability - create that and your classroom will start to run itself and positive learning behaviors will emerge. In this course we take the best from old school methods, new school philosophies and create a safe and welcoming space for students and teachers alike. Participants will be able to analyze their current environments, identify future classroom goals and design an evolving system of community.

Introduction to SLIFE (students with limited or interrupted formal education)
July 7-14
Learn about the characteristics of SLIFE (Students with limited or interrupted formal education), which are a subgroup of English Language Learners. Analyze their strengths and challenges. Apply SLIFE knowledge to creating instructional plans and then discuss student scenarios and how teachers can best support these students.
