Holiday Wishes for You and Yours
Every season has its glory, but this is the time of year I hold most dear. It's a time of tradition, family, and sweet memory making. Nearly every aspect of this blessed season has a connection in my heart and mind. Odd as it may seem, even Black Friday shopping is accompanied by fond thoughts. A flurry of heartwarming memories fill my mind...four generations baking cookies together in the kitchen, cutting down our tree and ceremoniously decorating it, candlelight services, and family around the table. These are the important things.
So, my wish for you during this special time of year is that you embrace and enjoy every glittery, flour-coated, messy moment. Sooner than you can imagine, those moments will have passed and you'll find yourself wishing for their return. Enjoy this special time of year with these precious little people you share with us.
May peace be your gift and your blessing all year through!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Tis the Season…
The staff will be enjoying a little holiday dress-up fun. We invite our students and families to join us in the fun if you so choose.
*Grade levels may have a different dress-up theme/suggestion on some days.

Helpful Information
You may have heard your child refer to 'size of the problem' when an unexpected or undesirable situation occurs. 'Size of the problem, size of the reaction' is a wonderful strategy to help children gain perspective when they encounter a problem. The video below may be helpful in providing you with an understanding of this problem-solving strategy.
Weather Information You Made Need this Winter
The winter season is upon us. Our district staff understands that our decision to open or close schools in bad weather has a significant effect on families. We also understand that our students are better served, both academically and socially, by being in school. But as always, our top priority is the safety of our students.
The superintendent will make the decision to open or close the schools in bad weather by 5:30 A.M. based on analysis of all relevant factors, such as information on road conditions from transportation staff and from the police
The superintendent will make the decision to open or close the schools in bad weather by 5:30 A.M. based on analysis of all relevant factors, such as: Information on road conditions from transportation staff and from the police
- Amount of snow and ice accumulated
- Whether precipitation is continuing
- Building conditions (such as whether we have electricity and heat)
- Parking lot conditions
- Temperature and wind chill
- Weather predictions
- Sidewalk conditions
- What other school districts are doing
Families will be notified of decisions through a variety of media resources. Tune to WBAP-820 AM or KRLD 1080 radio, WFAA8, NBC5, FOX4, KTVT11 or KTXA21 television stations or KSTV for up-to-date information on school closings. Keller ISD does not recommend that you call the school or district office unless it is an emergency. You can also sign up for an e-mail notification service through the district’s website. Check our district Web site www.KellerISD.net for information. A red alert bar will appear across the top of the KellerISD.net home page should campuses be closed.
Visitor Procedures
- Procedures for visitors apply throughout the entire school day.
- The north end (cafeteria and gym doors) is only available to children. Students may enter through these doors between 7:35 and 7:55 but adults must enter through the lobby doors. Adults attempting to enter through the north doors will be redirected to enter through the office.
ALL visitors will be required to enter through the office, provide picture identification, and obtain a visitor sticker/badge before proceeding to any other part of the building. Adults will be asked to leave their picture identification in the office while in the building and pick it back up as they exit the building through the office. This ensures we know who is in the building at all times.
- Office staff will verify the visitor is a parent, guardian, or approved contact for the student.
Thank you for working with us to ensure the safety and security of our children.
December Lunch Menu
Lunch Account
Please be sure to add funds to your child's lunch account if he/she will be purchasing meals at school. This can be accomplished by linking to Schoolcafe' and loading funds electronically. Through the Schoolcafe' system, you are able to set alerts for a designated low balance in the account, load the account, and track purchases. Schoolcafe' also offers you the opportunity to specify dietary or purchase restrictions (i.e.- student not authorized to purchase snacks OR student may not have dairy or peanuts).
For the 2022-23 school year, breakfast will be free for all of our students. Lunch is $2.95 for students who have not qualified for free- or reduced- meal assistance.
If you have a financial need and would like to apply for meal assistance, follow this link to learn more about the options available to you.
Lunch Dates
Parents are welcome to join their students for lunch. Please remember that state law only allows parents/guardians to provide food for their own children. You will not be able to bring food for a friend's child and have him/her join you.
If you've never had the opportunity to dine with us, be sure to bring your driver's license with you when you check in at the office. If you arrive a bit early, we'll have you take a seat in the office and wait for your student's lunchtime before heading to the cafeteria. You may purchase lunch from the cafe, bring in lunch for you and your child, or just sit and enjoy the time with your kiddo as he/she eats. We have parent lunch tables reserved for you to dine with your student. Please know that students will not be able to bring a friend to the guest table to dine with you.
Interested in Volunteering?
We LOVE our voluteers at BPE. There are so many things we couldn't do if it weren't for our amazing volunteers. We ask just one thing of you for the safety and security of our children. If you are interested in volunteering on campus, chaperoning a field trip, or assisting with special events such as parties or Field Day, you will need to complete a Criminal Background Check. This annual requirement must be completed every school year. Be sure to plan ahead by completing the background check in plenty of time so results will be back prior to your volunteer commitment.
Change of Dismissal Plan ☎️
Change of dismissal arrangements must be communicated to the office via email, note, or phone by a legal guardian. If you need to make a last-minute change to your student's dismissal plan, please notify the office by phone before 3:00. Teachers are often not able to check their email during the school day so calling or emailing the office will ensure the change of dismissal plan is received. The office phone number is (817) 744-4600 or email: debbie.reece@kellerisd.net OR angela.joneson@kellerisd.net.
Celebrating a Birthday? 🎂
Birthdays are pretty special! Our kids are always so anxious to begin their day by being a part of BPE Live for their TV debut. We honor their big day with lots of well wishes from classmates and staff. In celebration of your child, you are welcome to send your student in with a non-food item to share with their classmates such as special pencils, fun erasers, stickers, or the like. Please know this is optional, not expected or required. If you do send in birthday (non-food) treats, we ask that you keep it small. Teachers will ensure time is set aside for your student to share this birthday treat at the end of the day.
