AG Students Visit Monsanto R&D Hdqtrs

Muscatine Agricultural and East Campus students went to Monsanto Company’s research and development headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri on May 10th. 50 students extracted DNA from strawberries, toured the grow chambers, visited the machine shop, chipped seeds to identify characteristics for further research and attended a career panel form. Many students stepped into Brazil or Argentina in the grow chambers as the grow chambers are able to replicate the growing conditions in any area of the world. Another stop was the St. Louis Zoo where the students visited sea lions, penguins, and rhinoceros to name several.
