Is The Death Penalty Okay?

What Is The Death Penalty?
Is the death penalty a sign of revenge, a relief to the victims, or simply just punishment? The death penalty has been around since the beginning of humanity as a way to execute criminals for the brutal events they have caused, but in modern day we have protection to the citizens of the world with police and prisons, so why do we need to execute a person to feel safe, well we don't. Some call it a punishment for what the person did, but how is it a punishment? When we were young kids our parents gave us a punishment (like when they tell you to sit in the corner and think about what you did) to get us to learn from your mistakes, so how is killing a human teaching them a lesson or punishing them in any way if they are dead? Some people call the death penalty a way of revenge. What is revenge going to do? Make you feel better that you decided the fate of a human, to show that the criminal didn't win? Well a criminal is more scared of life in prison than taking a sleeping pill that they never wake up from and causes no pain. Criminals already know the rest of their life is going to be in prison so why not just stop right now. Is the death penalty really a punishment or an exit from madness.
Knife for prisoner or life for prisoner
In America we pay taxes to keep prisoners in jail and keep them alive, but did you know it can take up to 20 years to get the death penalty, and most people who are sentenced to the death penalty are men over the age of 40. Women or young adults are usually let off the hook depending on the scenario. By the time the criminal is ready for the death penalty they will be much older and their case is probably put away. Its kind of like we are paying just as much taxes. Life in prison is not a bad option. It gives the person a chance to die a good man, but if not community service is always needed. Might as well teach them some good.
Can we decide fate?
Do you feel you have the right to take someones fate away for a crime they did? It is not a punishment, it wont teach a lesson, revenge is not the way to go (2 wrongs don't make a right), so what is the good in it. Everyone makes mistakes, especially if you have been sentenced to the death penalty, and killing them is not the answer to ending the case. Death penalty is no longer needed in society and hopefully is no longer wanted.
