Professional Learning - Four-Day Week!
Hello Bright Staff!
We have another 4-day week. We know that 4-day weeks can seem longer than a traditional work week, so let's prioritize and keep the focus on the main thing.
Staff Update Wednesday - We need to take some time to reset and re-establish our purpose. Please plan to stay later than 4:15 pm this Wednesday as our work is highly important. We will need additional time to move through the agenda. Have available the following resources if you have them - Morning Meeting Book, PBIS world link, Momentous/SEL lessons and other resources that you feel will help support building relationships and changing student behaviors. Due to our fabulous book fair we are unable to meet in the library. We will meet in the cafeteria at 3:15 pm.
Good Morning Bright: There is no student attendance this Friday and there will be no GMB.
October 7th Professional Learning - Team leaders are aware of the expectations for our Oct. 7th PL day and will work with their teams on an agenda for the day. In order for support staff (Principal, AP, IC, ESL, GT, Dyslexia, DLC, etc.) to be available to work with all teams, will work in the cafeteria. Some of you will be off campus, but most of you will remain on campus. Campus Improvement Team (CIT): Thanks for selecting staff representatives to serve on our CIT. Our reps are: Debbie, Cassie, Landry, Laurie, Karie, Lensie, Heather, Sharon, Kari - along with Sarika and Carrie. Thank you for your service.
Energy Saving Efforts: As we are all aware, the district is working to save money where we can. One thing we are all expected to do is conserve energy. Please be mindful of these two small things that will help tremendously:
* Switch off classroom lights when you leave
* Switch off projectors when not in use
Parent /Teacher Conferences: The parent/teacher conference window is October 3rd - November 18th. It is important to conference with every parent. Kari will provide more details about how to respond to unresponsive parents, conference dos and dont's, how to share tough information, etc. Click the link to access the "Parent Notification of Child's Progress in Reading" letter. A completed copy of this letter should be given to the parents during parent/teacher conferences. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0B3v8MzRloaaVMU8xVWxrMG9yYzg
Staff Updates: Friday was the last day for our long-term sub in 2nd grade, Jennifer Rodriguez. She did an AMAZING job of opening the school year and setting the tone for the class. Jennifer has been recognized several times in our Bright Bulletin for her great work. Thank you Jennifer! We are excited that Angela Smith will be back with us on Monday! Angela has been working hard to make the transition for the students., parents and team seamless. Thank you Angela and we will see you in the morning.
Thanks everyone and let's have a great week!
