Northville, MI

Bring a box of diapers or a gas gift card and join us for a girl's night out benefiting Northville Civic Concern at Genitti's Hole-In-The Wall.

Main Street League will be providing the appetizers and there will be a cash bar.

Bring a friend that is new to Main Street League and you could win a bottle of wine!

Sincerely,

The MSL Board: Lauren Romeo, Jen Mullan, Jen Langan, Merrilee Nay, Pam McLoughlin, Lisa Meinzinger-Abraham

*Civic Concern has suggested we focus on larger size diapers (size 3-6). They would also appreciate wipes. This is so important because government food stamps do not cover the cost of diapers or paper products.

Amazing Grapes - A Huge Success!

Thanks to everyone that came out or supported our Amazing Grapes wine event this past November! The night was a huge success, raising $10,000! We were able to donate $7000 to Civic Concern and Meijer matched that $7k in gift cards that can be used for food and baby items. A portion of the money raised ($3K) was held in the MSL Emergency Fund. The support from our members and the community was amazing and we hope everyone that attended the event had a great night!

Helping Families in the Community

MSL was able to help out 2 families in our community.

  • A South Lyon woman was leaving a domestic situation and our executive members voted to provide her with $500 to move in to a new location and for essential items. Furniture and a washer and dryer were also donated.

  • Another local woman was also leaving a domestic situation and had 4 kids. We were able to provide food cards and Christmas for the family with $800 in donations. We were also able to get her a snow shoveling contract and tires for her vehicle from emergency funds!

First Step Playground

We have been so fortunate to provide assistance to the folks at First Step Shelter. Our executive members voted to purchase a piece of playground equipment for the kids to use at the shelter!

Kicks for Kids

Our Kicks for Kids event was so important, especially with this bitter cold winter. MSL donated 33 pairs of shoes for the children at First Step shelter. Thanks to the members that donated shoes and a special shout out to Haley Kairesh that did a bunch of shoe shopping to get the remaining pairs of shoes (24) on a $500 budget!

Scholarships

We are still in the planning process for providing scholarships. Some ideas include Camperships, where we would identify some camps and pay the fees for children in need along with school scholarships. Stay tuned for more info!

Main Street League Juniors

The MSL Juniors committee is working on some activities for spring. One idea is to have the kids create birthday bags that include Cake mix, frosting, balloons and then provide the bags to Northville Civic Concern so that families can pick them up when they will be celebrating a birthday. If you have any other ideas or activities to share, please contact us at mainstreetleague@gmail.com.

  • We are in the planning stages of the 2nd annual Kickball tournament. Looking forward to the fun and continued success of that event! Keep an eye out for more information.
