BRAVE Update

Bear Creek Intermediate School

Be BRAVE Today!

We have enjoyed each Friday when we have had the opportunity to celebrate some amazing Braves with our Golden Brave award! Would encourage everyone to make a trip down the main/co-curr hallway to see the pictures and write-ups on each of our Golden Braves as well as the canvas paintings that each pod created. We have also begun to recognize students "in the moment" when they are being caught exemplifying the Bear Creek Code. We have enjoyed recognizing our students as they:

  • Be responsible
  • Reach your goals
  • Act respectfully
  • Value one another
  • Engage in learning

We have an amazing staff here at BCI as well! We would love for you to nominate a staff member (teachers, aides, etc.) for a Golden Brave!!

Books for Mugae

Bear Creek’s Gifted and Talented students are holding a fundraiser from February 16th through March 1st to raise money for Mugae Primary School in Kenya. Mugae desperately needs a well-stocked library to help their students gain a stronger education in order to pass their 8th grade exams. Passing their exams allows them to pursue secondary educational opportunities and provides an avenue for helping end the cycle of poverty they face.

Mugae Primary School will use the funds raised to purchase books for their library. If you are interested in contributing to this fundraiser, you may purchase a shirt at: You may also make donations at this link:

Cookie Dough

This sale continues through Wednesday, February 17th! We appreciate so much your support in this effort! We realize there are lots of fundraisers going on, and thank you for the impact you are making right here on campus as we continue campus building and technology updates as well as other spots around the world!

New BCI Website

This is not a test! This is the real deal!

Websites have been up and down since the go-live date on February 12th. We continue to expect some of the glitches that come along with anything new technology wise. Please let us know if there is something we can do to make the website more user-friendly!

New teacher landing pages will be a work in progress. Basic schedule and contact information are included and more information will come as we have the ability to work with those. Regular pod/teacher newsletters will continue via e-mail and Remind.

Please help us in our efforts to improve our communications by completing this brief survey. Last round we had only 16 respondents, so we would like to increase that number greatly for this second sampling. Thank you in advance for your help!
