2016 SPRING SEASON REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Managers

Teams may be created and begin registration now. Managers should email invitations to their players to register for their teams. Managers please use discount code "Manager2016" for your personal registration to receive the 50% discount on your personal Player Dues.

Players

If you receive an invitation, please follow the link in the email to register for your team. You may also register as a Player and request to join a specific team if you already have an agreed commitment with the Team Manager. The Early Bird discount ends January 31st - so don't delay!


Free Agents

Free Agents are players who are new to the MSLA or are returning players who are looking for a new team. You may register as a Free Agent at no charge. Once you are added to a Team, you will be invoiced for the Player Dues.


Please complete the information in the ABOUT ME section of your profile regarding your playing experience, preferred defensive positions, etc. Managers will contact you and invite you to their team practice.


The Recruitment Committee will also assist in creating new teams to help ensure all new players find a team in the MSLA.

Ratings Clinic #1

The first Ratings Clinic of the 2016 MSLA Season will be held to assist Managers in their initial rating of all NEW members to NAGAAA - MSLA. If you are a new player to the MSLA and have never played in a NAGAAA city, please attend to begin the process of a ratings assessment.

Lone Star Classic March 12-13, 2016

Registration for the 2016 Lone Star Classic is now open.


IMPORTANT DATES:

  • December 28-- Early Registration Opens
  • February 6-- Regular Registration Opens
  • February 26-- Registration and payment deadline
  • March 11--Opening party
  • March 12-13-- Tournament weekend


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Tournament fee-- early registration is $450.00 per team.

B, C and D Divisions-- each division is expected to fill quickly. Only first PAID teams will be guaranteed spots. ALL divisions will be locked February 26th, or sooner if applicable.


Managers - register your team by clicking the link and follow the instructions. All payments must be made by electronic payment by the due dates to receive the early registration discounts.


Players - If you are on a registered team's roster, no further action is needed. Your hard working manager will take care of everything to make sure you are registered for our tournament.


Pickup Players - if you will be in Houston during our Tournament and want to join a team, please register as a Free Agent by clicking the icon and completing the information. Managers will contact you directly and once you have committed to a Team you may remove your Free Agent membership.

Recruitment Day

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2016 Recruitment Day! It was a beautiful day (although a little chilly) and we now have over 70+ new and returning players looking for a Team in the MSLA. Thank you to the Recruitment Committee and Ratings Committee volunteers for making this another successful event.

Public Relations Coordinator --- Vacancy

Request for Candidates

The Public Relations Coordinator position on the MSLA Board of Trustees is vacant and we are taking requests for candidates. The term ends at the Annual Meeting in September of this year. If you have the skills and desire to volunteer to help make our League even better, please submit your nomination and a brief bio or resume to Commissioner@HoustonMSLA.org.


The duties of the Public Relations Coordinator shall include but are not limited to:


A. Collecting information and overseeing the publication of the League newsletter.

B. Serving as spokesperson for the League with the news media.

C. Approving all advertising/marketing materials that are published in any medium on behalf of the League and/or Leaguerelated events.

D. Coordinating and approving all League communications (by anyone other than fellow Board of Trustees members) to outside parties.

E. Serving as an authorized signatory on the League banking account(s).

F. Serving as the primary Trustee for recruiting new members into the League, both playing and nonplaying.

G. Serving as the primary Trustee for the League website.

H. Coordinating with the Treasurer and the Fundraising / Sponsorship Coordinator to secure and manage corporate sponsors for the League

I. Coordinating compliance with the League’s 501(c)(3) guidelines related to fundraising and use of funds with the Treasurer
