In this session, learn about the research behind Fixed and Growth Mindset in order to make connections between teacher and student mindset and student success in mathematics. We will discuss and explore resources and strategies available to promote a growth mindset in the mathematics classroom.
A MESSAGE FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.........
Carter Coalition,
This week elementary scholars began taking our district's ACP exams. Next week, secondary campuses will begin to take them as well. ACP results from all exams taken, will provide a clear picture of where all our scholars fall in regards to each their level of mastery of the first taught semester curriculum. Also, each of you will be able to gauge the strengths of the instructional programs on your campuses from alignment to the instructional delivery in every classroom setting.
Continue to ensure that you are providing the operational support for a safe, quiet, and smooth testing environment free of distractions for our scholars.
This week, we also were able to look at our data from the data meetings for campus failure rates and the correlation of spot observations data to teacher failure rates. This gave every leader to hone in on what was evident from the spots/teachers and how relevant the data actually was according to congruency with the AP's in spot observations.
Continue to monitor failure rates as well as calibrations walks with your Asst. Principals to ensure that the spot observation rubric is being followed.
Here is to a strong last week of testing before our extended holiday break.
Ms. Torres
