Introduction
Lake Kivu lies between the countries of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is forty-eight kilometers wide and eighty-nine kilometers long. Lake Kivu is also four hundred and eighty-five meters deep. Lake Kivu is a fresh water lake. Methane gas has been found in Lake Kivu.
