Jacksonville Commons Middle School
Knightly News
Dear JCMS Parents and Students,
Each of us can probably name a way cancer has affected our life or the life of someone we care about. We are so proud of our Relay for Life Team who put forth extra effort to ensure that our school participated in a meaningful way at our local Relay for Life this weekend at Northside High School. Thank you, Ms. Karissa Lawson, for heading up this team and thank you to everyone who contributed. Great job, Knights!
Parents, we hope you will take a moment to complete the BrightBytes Survey below. We appreciate your feedback.
Please find below a list of upcoming scheduled events. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Pylant, Principal

Just a reminder: Cell Phones, CD Players, Electronics, Etc. and Telephone Usage Policy
We understand the value that cell phones have in communication between parents and students. For this reason, we allow cell phones at school for the sole use for after school hours. During school hours, 7:35 am to 3:15 pm, cell phone use is prohibited. Cell phones are to be turned off and kept in lockers or book bags. Students will not be allowed to carry cell phones on their person. If needed, phone history will be reviewed and discipline action may be taken based upon information gathered from the phone history. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones, electronics, etc. Students may report stolen items to the resource officer. During school hours, all phone needs should be handled in the front office. All students should obtain permission and sign-in prior to making a call. Please take care of logistical matters and other information at home prior to coming to school. Consequences for disobeying this rule will be as follows:
- 1st offense: item confiscated and parent must pick up item from the office
- 2nd offense: item confiscated and parent must pick up item from the office
- Subsequent offenses may result in ISS or OSS
