Ecstasy and Love
Act II: Scene 1, Line 99
"This is the very ecstasy of love" -Polonius
In Shakespeare's Hamlet, Ophelia approaches her father with the conflict of Hamlet's emotions toward her. She describes the rash actions that Hamlet has expressed and is looking for Polonius's advice. In a serious tone, Polonius explains to Ophelia that the young Hamlet is just acting out in the emotion of love. This is a very crazy emotion that drives you wild. It is very deep and profound and is not something that should be fooled around with. The heart is of the soul and is in a very fragile state.
