THE GREAT DEPRESSION
The Great Depression By: Patrick Azu
President Herbert Hoover
Herbert Hoover was the president during the Great Depression and did nothing to help the country. People were so angry that they named unimportant and ugly things like him. Example will be hoovervilles and hooverblankets
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Franklin Roosevelt was the president after hoover. He created the New Deal which gave people jobs to work in National Parks and forests. He also led the country through half of World War II. He died of a sickness polio or something like it. He was a Great Man.
Hoovervilles
Hoovervilles are shakes that are built with cardboard and a huge peice of cloth. They are dirty cardboards too that's why people called them Hoovervilles, because they are trying to insult President Hoover.
Flagpole Sitting
FlagPole Sitting was a fad that wasn't so popular like tennis atop a soaring airplane. Also the flagpole was really really tall. The longest someone has been sitting was 10 days and 9 nights
Playing Tennis Atop A Soaring Airplane
Playing tennis atop a soaring airplane was a fad, but this fad was not boring like flagpole sitting. People loved to see people play tennis on a flying airplane. It was like a daredevil stunt.
FADS
Fads were something that is embraced very enthusiastically for a short time, especially by many people. Flagepole sitting is an example of a fad.
