What is it?

It is when you inhale smoke from someone else who is smoking and it gets in your lungs and does harm to your body.

Fact

It is not as bad as direct smoking but you still get effected by it.

  • If you live with a smoker and you are a non-smoker that will increase your chances for lung cancer 20-30 %
  • It will cause you to have a different voice because the voice box gets changed
  • If we stop smoking we can save 40,000 + lives
  • There is no safe level of exposure to second hand smoke which means a little will still affect you
  • Can cause lung cancer
  • Can also cause heart disease, ear infections, and asthma attacks
  • Called passive smoking when someone isn’t used to SHS
  • Increases chance of breast cancer, and nasal sinus cavity cancer, and leukemia
  • Increases chances of colds, bronchitis, and more severe asthma
