What are Reactants & Products?

Substances (elements / compounds) called reactants are changed into other substances (compounds / elements) called products during a chemical reaction. An example of a chemical reaction is when a match burns.

Law of conservation of mass: a fundamental principle of classical physics that matter can't be created/destroyed in an isolated system.
