I use to dream of having a sword that would shoot a beam of fire out every time I swung and when I read this book my dream came true. The Warrior Heir is a book written by Cinda Williams Chima. I usually don't read fantasy books but when I saw this book I immediately picked it up. There is so much action and suspense in this book and its incredibly intense. Although I found the characters to be a little unrealistic. For example, on pg. 104 Fitch gets hurt from a enchanted case when he tries to open it. Fitch gets wounded very badly from this and his reaction was a lot less dramatic than I expected it to be. If the characters were more realistic then this book would be even more dramatic and suspenseful than it already was. Although there were times were i couldn't tell if they were enchanted by his aunt's powers or not.

The main character, Jack, was kid who grew up taking this medicine that prevented him from becoming a Warrior Heir. One day he forgot to take it and that's were everything began. Jack goes on a field trip with his Aunt and he and his Aunt are attacked by a Wizard. They hide in the shadows until they find were the sword is. When they retrieve the sword Jack goes head to head with a wizard with his new sword. The wizard says that his Aunt is a Enchanter and that he is under her spell. This is were the story, in my opinion, got incredibly good. There were so many questions that came upon me and the author let the suspense rise and I didn't know who to trust. There was no true enemy until later on in the story. When Jack enters the game with the Silver Bear Clan I found myself in love with all the action and medieval like setting. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes a lot of action and suspense.
