PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Eagle Families,

It has been such a pleasure seeing so many families on campus again as visitors and volunteers. Our Friday Flags are so much more fun when our students are able to have people from home come cheer for them when they are recognized for their accomplishments or even for their birthday. If you'd like to join us one Friday, please just come through the office and get a Friday Flag sticker. It's that easy!

This week our 3rd-5th graders began CAASPP testing. We appreciate families making a greater effort to get students to school on time and prepared with a good night's rest, fed, a charged device, and a positive attitude. Testing continues again next week so thank you in advance for your support.

Lastly, next week is staff appreciation week. Thank you to our PTA for organizing some fun ways students can tell their teachers and support staff they are appreciated (see below).

With sincere gratitude for your continued support from home,

Lani Russi

Principal, TLES

3-5 CAASPP TESTING APRIL 25- MAY 13

CAASPP Testing continues next week.

This past week April 25- 29 English Language Arts

Week 2 May 2-6 Math

Week 3 May 9-13 5th Grade Science and Make-up testing

These tests help our school and district to monitor the effectiveness of our current programs in relation to student success in English Language Arts and Math (and 5th-grade science).

Tests results will also provide feedback to families as to how well your child was able to achieve in core content areas in relation to grade-level standards and in relation to other students in their grade nationwide.

Because we want an authentic snapshot of what our students know at this time, we ask that you please help us ensure students are given the best possible chance to do their personal best. Please ensure...

* students get plenty of rest each night

* students eat a healthy breakfast before coming to school

* students arrive at school on time ready for the test (positive attitude and a fully charged iPad) - Please do your best to limit absences during the three weeks of testing unless your child is sick. Tardy students will not be allowed to go to their classroom if the testing session has already started for the day.

* you remind students that their best is all you expect. Let them know that their test results don't define them, they just help us to know what we need to keep doing or what we may need to do differently to help students learn. :)

IT'S TIME FOR RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR THE 22/23 SCHOOL YEAR!

ALL students returning to TVUSD for the 2022/2023 school year are required to fill out the Returning Student Registration packet in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

This is a MANDATORY process for all returning students. Any student who does not have a

completed returning student registration packet in IC will not have access to a school schedule or classroom placement for the 22/23 school year.

Please note, if a family has current TVUSD students and would like to add a new, non-TVUSD, sibling to their returning student registration packet, they cannot. Any new student to TVUSD,

TK-12, must be enrolled through CEC. That is a separate process. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to CEC for support. Thank you!
