From the Middle EMS and ELA

News from the Principal, May 3, 2021

Hello Parents and Families,

Wow! Where has the time gone. May is here!

Thank you for your continued patience and perseverance around our quarantine needs. Our students are amazing and resilient, and we thank you for supporting them through the difficulties around school during this pandemic.

Please keep in mind that if your student is exposed to COVID outside of school or if your student or anyone in your family is exhibiting COVID symptoms, to please keep your student home until receiving a negative COVID test (or begin quarantine for 10 days).

As you have maybe heard in the news, teenagers generally exhibit minor symptoms, which makes it difficult to know when to quarantine or get tested. However, please don't assume it is "just a headache" or "just seasonal allergies." If the symptoms persist beyond 24 hours, Tri-County Health Department recommends a COVID test for minor symptoms such as these.

Thank you for all you are doing!

SAVE THE DATE--MIDDLE SCHOOL VOICES

On Wednesday, May 19th we will host an amazing IN-PERSON family event to celebrate the end of our year. All current EMS and ELA families are invited, as well as our Englewood 6th grade families. We will be displaying our student art, hosting games and activities, and we will also have food and snacks. The Colorado Symphony will also be here with artists and dancers.

The event is totally free and you do not need to RSVP, and it will all happen outside in the courtyard on the east side of the building.

Our event goes from 5:00 pm--7:00 pm. Come anytime and enjoy the entertainment.

SPIRIT WEEK HAPPENING THIS WEEK!

Big picture

PARENTS--WE NEED YOU!!

We are in need of YOUR VOICE as we prepare for our May 19th Middle School Family Event.

Our event is all about COMMUNITY, and you are a very important part of our school community. We truly want voices from all throughout our community represented, which is why we are asking you to share your experiences.

We would love to display pictures of families from our community as well as brief stories or poetry, or even small pieces of art that reflect our families and community. This piece should represent you--parents, guardians, caretakers--of our middle school kids.

Please submit your creative piece to middleschoolvoices@engschools.net by May 15th.

You can also bring your creative piece to the event and add it to the display that night.
