Catholic Education Sunday

We recognize Catholic education as a gift – a gift that we treasure and protect. On Catholic Education Sunday, we acknowledge the value and blessing of our Catholic schools and give thanks for the faith-based education they offer. Here in Alberta, unlike some other provinces, we are especially blessed to have a publicly-funded Catholic education. Let us continue to pray for this wonderful gift.

The date for GSACRD’s Catholic Education Sunday Mass has been changed to Sunday, November 27th. Our school will be represented at Holy Family Parish at 11:00 am. Please join us, if you can!

Christmas Hampers

Referral Process

We have been in communication with the St. Albert Kinettes regarding their Christmas Hamper program. For over 57 years, they have provided food and toy hampers to over 200 families in St. Albert to help them during the Christmas Season. In addition, we have also been approached by Red Willow Church and other organizations and citizens in the community.

The hamper program does not take direct referrals from families in need, thus relying on schools, community agencies, and social service agencies for referrals. If you require additional assistance during the Christmas season, please complete the form below or reach out to Ms. Manson at 780-459-7734 by Friday, November 25th. All referrals will remain confidential at the school level and are only shared with community organizations.

Hello everybody and welcome to the school year! I am pleased to introduce myself as not only the vice-principal of Holy Family but also the counsellor. Raising Digitally Responsible Youth

Parenting is hard, and the rapid rise of technology and social media use in the lives of their kids makes it harder.

To help, we're extending complimentary access to download “Raising Digitally Responsible Youth – A Parent's Guide from Safer Schools Together. The guide was designed to help introduce Parents and Caregivers to leading social media platforms, video games, and relevant trends that are either being used already or have the potential to be used by their children.

This guide is full of tips, how-to’s and definitions for the most widely used apps – including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and more.

Fr. Antony from Holy Family Parish

Big picture

Holy Family Catholic Parish

We are dedicated to building a Catholic, Christian community that prepares our students to know, model, and witness Jesus Christ. Our faith theme this year is ”ARISE: GO WITH GOD”. Pope Francis speaks directly to all young people, especially students, with a call to ARISE. He wants to inspire today’s youth to use their God-given gifts and talents to make the world a better place.

Looking ahead
