Rose Hill Rambler

December 2021

Happy December Rose Hill Families!

Who can believe we are already heading in to the last month of 2021?! This year has been full of learning and fun, laughter and joy, challenges and growth. I saw a quote that said, "Hello December. You are the last one, so be the best one." As we move into this month, let's make it the best month of the year!

The cold weather is coming! Please take time to talk with your child about dressing appropriately for the weather. We will continue to go outside for recess, even during the winter, unless the weather does not permit or the wind chill is significant. If you or your family are in need of support with winter clothing or essential items, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Maureen Joerger at maureen.haggerty-joerger@ops.org or call the school at 531-299-2000.

We will continue to be diligent at Rose Hill for the health and safety of our staff and students. Please reach out if you have any questions about any signs of illness your child may be experiencing. We value school attendance, but also balance that with keeping everyone as healthy as possible. If you have any questions, please call!

First semester report cards will come home on December 17th with your child on the last day of school before Winter Recess. Please take some time to look over the report card and discuss your students' growth and learning! If you have any questions about the report card, please reach out to your student's teacher after Winter Recess.

We hope that the time away from school is spent making memories! We look forward to starting 2022 off strong on January 5th.

For the last time in 2021, Rose Hill Rams ROCK!

NSCAS Winter Pilot Testing Grades 3-5

The Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS), pronounced “en-skass,” is a new statewide assessment system that embodies Nebraska’s holistic view of students and helps them prepare for success in postsecondary education, career, and civic life. It uses multiple measures throughout the year to provide educators and decision makers at all levels with the insights they need to support student learning.

You will see the dates listed on the December Calendar above with Reading testing on December 7th-9th and Math testing on December 14th-16th . Please help us make this a successful testing experience for your student by ensuring they are at school on the days when testing is happening and helping them to get a good night's sleep in advance!

Thank you for your partnership!
