The Siple Scoop
May 2019
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Siple Families,
I have an outstanding team of educators. I proudly stand behind each and every one of them and know they provide an excellent education to every student that comes through Siple Elementary. I hope you will join me in recognizing my outstanding staff during Staff Appreciation Week May 6-10. We will celebrate not only classroom teachers, but also, secretaries, paraprofessionals, playground monitors, cooks, bus drivers, and custodians. Our PTO has planned a wonderful week filled with ways to celebrate this incredibly dedicated team.
You can join in the celebration by writing a note to thank a staff member. Your kind words of appreciation go a long way. Your child can draw a picture or write a note as well. These are treasured gifts that my staff members love receiving. I also keep a binder in the office that has a page for each staff member and a list of their favorite things like their favorite treat, beverage, restaurant, etc. Many parents have found this handy to help them choose a thank you gift for their child's teacher. You can stop in to see it any time.
If you would like to help with any of the special events planned by the PTO, please contact the PTO officers at siplePTO@gmail.com. Thank you for helping make Staff Appreciation Week a very special time for our staff members!

SIPLE STARS OF THE MONTH
We work hard at Siple to teach and reinforce the Cardinal Code behavior expectations at Siple. We wanted to create a way to recognize students that consistently follow the Cardinal Code in an exemplary way.
Each month classroom teachers will nominate one student from their class to be entered into the grade level drawing for the STAR of the MONTH for that grade. Each grade level STAR of the Month will receive a certificate, medal, and their photo will be on display in the hallway during that month.
We are pleased to recognize students for consistently demonstrating excellent behavior. Thank you for sharing your outstanding children with us. I am pleased to announce our STARs of the Month for April:
Kindergarten: Hope Schlip
1st grade: Bella Hayward
2nd grade: Carter Freeman
3rd grade: Landon Helton
4th grade: Noah Keener
Our other outstanding nominees for the month of April were:
