Math homework: "It's not about getting the right answer; it's about how he/she got the right answer." Students must show how they get their answers. This includes showing the use of: a number sentence, a strategy, buzz words (key terms), the computational steps needed to solve, and a written explanation when required.
Math folders will be brought home whenever there is math homework or an upcoming test. All folders will have math buzz words from each unit (key vocabulary terms), notes, etc... Students do need to know the math vocabulary. Please study extra wherever and whenever needed. It pays off!

Writing across subjects: Students must spell words correctly that are found on the page(s), they must spell "No Excuse Words" correctly (lists will be provided as words are added to our word wall in the classroom), and they must write in complete sentences. That includes "restating" the question/topic prior to stating/giving the answer, idea, or when elaborating on an answer or drafting a paragraph.
Reading: Anytime students can read 20+ minutes a night I encourage it!
